Resumo
O presente trabalho aborda questões referentes às modificações dos critérios artísticos nos Salões Municipais de Belas Artes de Belo Horizonte focando no debate ocorrido na década de 1950 sobre as duas categorias de premiação: Arte Neoclássica e Moderna. A proposta é a (re)condução destas obras ao primeiro plano de investigação, contrariando a tendência comum da atual historiografia de arte mineira em valorizar explicações de determinação “política” ou “social” em detrimento a análise de obras específicas. A revisão deste quadro visa apreender a obra artística em sua totalidade, em sua capacidade de desdobramento em vários níveis de percepção por meio da inclusão dos conceitos relativos à “função”, “destinação” e “problema artístico” no termo inicial de “autenticidade”.

Abstract
This paper discusses issues relating to changes in the criteria artistic at the Municipal Salons of Fine Arts from Belo Horizonte focusing the debate occurred in 1950 on the two award categories: Neoclassical and Modern Art. The proposal is to (re)driving these works to the first plane of research, contrary to the common trend of the current historiography of art in valuing mining explanations of content “political” or “social” rather than the analysis of specific works. A review of the framework aims to learn the artistic work in its entirety, in its ability to unfolding into several levels of perception by including the concepts relating to “function”, “allocation” and “artistic problem” in the initial term of “authenticity”.
